The number of COVID 19 cases is showing no sign of flattening yet, increasing at about 800-1000 cases each day. Though the Government of India is doing all it can to ensure enough facilities and care, it is inevitable that at this rate, the country’s healthcare system would be under immense pressure soon.
India is a highly populated country and stands at a great risk if the curve doesn’t flatten. We could be caught short of adequate quarantine facilities, isolation wards and testing labs – things which are essential in this fight against the pandemic.
The news that China built a hospital in about 10 days to fight the COVID 19 pandemic went viral. While this was much appreciated, many doubted whether India could do the same, if needed.
The need of the hour in India at the moment, is similar. Fast paced development of the health infrastructure, especially quarantine facilities, isolation wards and testing labs. And India can.
With the usual brick & mortar construction, this could take a lot of time, something which we cannot afford to lose. Secondly, these structures should be flexible as their requirement varies across the wide landscape of India – something where the brick & mortar construction falls short.
Modular Steel Construction on the other hand is a technology that can bridge the gap between infrastructural development and the speed. Steel structures solve all the problems mentioned above and much more. Fabricated in the plant, these are easily movable and can be put up anywhere across India with ease.
The structures can be modified as per the requirement and even moved from one place to another. Additionally, this would reduce the material wastage as most of the construction material, that is steel, can be reused after the need. The building itself can be covered to a modular house!
Volta Green Structures has completed over 100 projects across the globe in the steel construction industry, with a vision to innovate and bring in technology to make infrastructural development faster and more sustainable.
In view of this pandemic, our teams have been working to design different solutions to the existing problems in the healthcare infrastructure, including the above mentioned quarantine facilities and much more.
We’re looking to collaborate with the Government of India and other steel companies, to use our combined resources and technology available to help in the fight. We’ve to build better, faster and smarter and help #IndiaFightCorona.
